The mission of the Academy of Entrepreneurship is:
- To provide students with both the business and interpersonal skills required to successfully manage a business of any size.
- To increase the effectiveness of students’ communication and presentation skills.
- To prepare students for post-secondary options.
- To develop financial literacy and knowledge of investment strategies
Entrepreneurs:
- Identify opportunities and take calculated risks
- Turn personal interests (e.g. music, fashion, computer skills, horticulture) and hobbies into opportunities to earn money
- Become leaders in their community
- Create personal financial health and wealth
The Entrepreneurship Academy includes activities and events such as:
- The New York City Wholesale Fair
- The Blair Investor's Club
- Business internships
- Regional and national business plan competitions
- In-school work opportunities such as the MCT Credit Union in-school bank branch, the school store, and event concessions.
